PREVIEW: Clyde v East Fife
Clyde take on East Fife at home this weekend in cinch League 1.
Two out of the three meetings between the sides this season have ended in a win for The Bully Wee, with 3-1 wins at New Bayview and at home. The last match ended a 0-0 draw in Methil. The Fifers sit bottom of cinch League 1 but now sit 3 points off 9th place after a win against Dumbarton last week. Clyde will be looking to remain in 6th place with a win, with Alloa now only 3 points behind in the table.
Joshua Bradley-Hurt returns to the squad after missing the last two league games after his injury against Airdrie. Gary Maley also remains with the squad to ensure there are two keepers in the squad.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:
“We got it wrong last week, we rode our luck a bit at the start and although I wanted us to have a go I thought we went too gung ho but we did get ourselves back into the game with a well-worked move leading up to the penalty. However, after that I felt every player dropped it 5%.
“Now we want a reaction. Usually, when we get it wrong we come back strongly and that’s exactly what is required on Saturday. We know it’s going to be a challenge, we’re at the business end of the season and we’re playing a team who are fighting for their lives. We’re fighting for the same points ourselves and the team that brings the hunger and desire will probably get the rewards.
“Since Stevie Crawford’s come in, East Fife have improved. They got a good positive result last week, and we know it’s going to be difficult. We know we need to bring the right work ethic in abundance, and we are a good decent side when we bring it. Saturday has been and gone, it’s all about picking up points going forward as the pace towards the end of the season picks up.”
