Peterhead 1-1 Clyde

Clyde only came down the road with a point from today’s cinch League 1 match, after a last minute equaliser from the hosts ensured both teams shared the points.

Danny Lennon made one change to the starting line up that lost to Cove Rangers last week, with Aaron Splaine replacing Kevin Nicoll in midfeild. Club captain David Goodwillie returned to the bench after missing the last couple of games through injury.

Peterhead started the game brightly, with some dangerous balls into the area but the Clyde defence managed to deal with the danger.

Neil Parry was called into action as he was forced to make a save from a Peterhead counter attack, as Russell McLean broke up the park quickly and got a shot away across goal, but the Clyde keeper got down well to make the stop.

The hosts then hit the woodwork, as Hamish Ritchie found space in the box and got a shot away but his shot rattled off the crossbar.

However, The Bully Wee were the side to break the deadlock. A freekick on the left hand side was taken by Mark Docherty who passed the ball short to Adam Livingstone, he then put a terrific cross into the box which found the head of Matthew Elsdon who rocketed a header into the back of the net to score his first goal for the club and Clyde took the lead going into the break.

The second half saw limited chances for either side, but the hosts saw most of the ball. The best chance fell to Grant Savoury who unleashed a curling effort from the edge of the box but once again Parry was there to deal with the shot.

As the game entered injury time and Clyde looking like they were going to hold on for all three points, Scott Brown found space just outside the box and his powerful effort beat Neil Parry and found the bottom corner of the net to score a dramatic leveller for the Blue Toon and ensure Peterhead a point.
