PREVIEW: Peterhead v Clyde
Clyde return to cinch League 1 action following a free weekend, and travel north to face Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium.
The Blue Toon currently sit bottom of the table after the first five games, while Clyde are 4 points ahead in 6th going into this fixture.
Jonathan Page and Ally Love remain out through injury, while Matthew Elsdon will serve his suspension following his red card against Cove Rangers. Aaron Splaine, Barry Cuddihy and Scott Rumsby have all recovered from their knocks and are fit for this game.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the match:-
“Peterhead is always a challenging place to go. We’re looking to build upon a good overall performance against Cove, and try to accumulate more points on the road. We know the challenges that it possesses, we’re playing a very well organised Peterhead side and we’ve neer had it easy up there. If you’re going to take anything from the game, you have to go up there and work extremely hard for absolutely everything.
“We’re need to try and get that bit of momentum, continuity and consistency to get more positive results. We’re under no illusions about the challenge, but on our day we’re a very good side and we need to bring the same ingredients that we did against the likes of Cove and Alloa who are very good sides.
“The season is well underway, the players are fit and have got to know each other a lot better. What we’re looking forward to, and what we haven’t managed to do so far yet, is field the same side two games in a row. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to do that again as Matthew Elsdon is suspended so that might force one or two changes, but that’s why you build a squad and have depth within that.”
