Mitchell Moves to Hibs

The club can confirm that David Mitchell has moved to cinch Premiership side Hibernian with immediate effect, after a transfer fee and personal terms were agreed with the Easter Road outfit.

Mitchell joined The Bully Wee in the summer of 2019 and quickly endeared himself to the supporters with a string of fine performances, establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the lower leagues. The 31-year-old also displayed leadership qualities, captaining Clyde several times in the absence of David Goodwillie.

Mitchell kept 17 clean sheets in 68 appearances for The Bully Wee, and all at the club wish him the very best in his new challenge at Hibs.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website after the sale of David was complete:-

“David has been good for Clyde and Clyde has been good for David. He needed an opportunity to show his quality and we’ve helped bring his best qualities out in him. A move to the top league is well deserved and everyone at the club wishes him well and thanks him for some great performances in his time here.”
