Audio Commentary
The club is pleased to announce that the Audio Commentary facility for fans with impaired sight is now available following the return of spectators to Broadwood Stadium.
The service, co-ordinated by Disability Access Officer Gerard McGeachy, allows participants to be brought closer to everybody else’s matchday experience.
Gerard explained:-
“Visually impaired and blind fans at the ground will be able to get a headset and listen to the commentary during home matches. This has been a valuable service; we had one fan with two genetic eye conditions which meant he could see in “washed-out colour” and not in focus. He was unable to see the ball travelling and had difficulty identifying players shirt numbers.
“You have to remind yourself that at the other end of the receiver there’s a visually impaired fan that needs to know what’s going on, and that’s the job of our commentator.”
