PREVIEW: Greenock Morton v Clyde
Clyde travel to Greenock in the final match day of Premier Sports Cup Group G to face cinch Championship side Morton.
The Bully Wee go into the match knowing that a win could see them progress to the last 16, depending on the result in the other match between Kilmarnock and Stranraer.
Kevin Nicoll and Jonathan Page remain doubtful for the clash, while Scott Rumsby will definitely be out due to suspension after picking up two yellow cards. Gregory Tade can also be considered for selection after signing on Tuesday.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-
“It’s all to play for tomorrow, we’ll go down there against a very well organised Morton side and look at continuing what aspects of pre-season we’ve been pleased about and obviously try and eradicate what we’re not pleased about.
“It’s all about progression, we want to qualify for the next round and we’re pleased to still be in it going into the last game but it also gives us another chance to prepare for the bread and butter of the league campaign next week.
“The Saturday and Tuesday matches are demanding on part-time clubs at this stage, as you don’t get much time to work on things in training as you would like especially when you’re trying to gel many new bodies together. The players are good pros and good lads, and they’re very much looking forward to tomorrow.
“It has all the makings of a great game, and if we bring our best and take care of the little things we’ve discussed during the week we will give ourselves a good opportunity.”
