NEW SIGNING: Owen Andrew

The club is pleased to announce the signing of forward Owen Andrew.

Andrew, 19, began his career at Kelty Hearts and was selected for the Scotland Schools under-18 squad in 2019. He later went on to play for East of Scotland League side St. Andrew’s United before joining Clyde for pre-season training, and featured in Tuesday’s friendly win at Raith Rovers.

Danny Lennon spoke about his 11th summer signing:-

“Owen is a lad we had in earlier in the year to take a look at but he picked up an injury in his second session with us. We always said we’d get him back in when fully fit and he’s been excellent in pre-season.

“He is a young man with a real hunger who wants to succeed at this level and play at the highest level he can. He now has to do the hard part and break himself into the team. That might take a little bit of time; how much time depends on Owen himself. He has great potential and we’ll be a good fit for one another.

“I think we’ll help him develop and fulfil that potential. You could see a little glimpse of that against Raith Rovers, where he had an assist in our goal.”

The list of players currently contracted for the 2021-22 campaign is: Owen Andrew, Conrad Balatoni, Aidan Cassidy, Barry Cuddihy, Ross Cunningham, Mark Docherty, Morgaro Gomis, David Goodwillie, Robert Jones, Adam Livingstone, Ally Love, Kieran McGrath, David Mitchell, Billy Mortimer, Kevin Nicoll, Jonathan Page, Harry Robinson, Scott Rumsby and Aaron Splaine.
