PREVIEW: Peterhead v Clyde
Clyde play the first of the post-split fixtures in League 1 tomorrow, with a trip to the north east to take on Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium.
The two sides faced each other at the same venue less than a month ago, when The Bully Wee picked up a 2-0 win following a closely-fought encounter.
Danny Lennon is likely to have the same squad available as he did against Forfar on Tuesday night and the Clyde manager was pleased to have had Thursday night off, following what has been a hectic few weeks for the squad and staff:-
“I’ve spoken to a few of the players today and it’s been strange to just get a bit of downtime with the family. It was nice and it also gave us a bit of an opportunity to recharge again, to get ready for what is going to be another busy week.”
Danny continued by looking back on the last meeting of the two clubs:-
“I thought the last match was a very good game tactically. They had a lot of possession, especially in the first half but I thought our discipline was very good throughout the night. We took two wonderful opportunities when they arose which shows how important it is to keep yourself in games like that, as somebody will eventually turn up with the goods.
“I was pleased that on Tuesday at Forfar, out with David Goodwillie, Lewis Jamieson and Josh Jack chipped in with a few goals. That’s what we need – a wee helping hand like that when you’re needing somebody to provide that bit of brilliance.
“We know that we have to be at our best tomorrow, you need to be if you want to take maximum points from Peterhead. We need to have our game head on from the first whistle, there’s no doubt about that.”
