PREVIEW: Ayr United v Clyde

The Bully Wee take a break from League 1 duty tomorrow with a match against Ayr United in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup.

Danny Lennon is likely to have the same squad available for selection again, with Tom Lang still out with a head injury and David Goodwillie again doubtful to feature. The Clyde captain will be assessed closer to kick-off.

Danny spoke to the official website ahead of the cup tie:-

“We’re looking forward to the tie. I love the romance of the Scottish Cup, it’s a terrific cup competition and one you always want to do well in. You want to play against teams higher up in the leagues and that’s the challenge we’re facing. It takes your mind away from the pressures and hustle and bustle of the league.

“We’re mindful of the busy schedule ahead of us again next week and the players that get the starting jerseys tomorrow have to go out and make a claim for those positions. They have to cause myself and the staff problems for team selections.

“We had started to build up a bit of momentum of being difficult to beat, but I didn’t see that in the first 30 minutes of the game on Thursday night. We’ve got to bring that into every game.”

You can watch the match live via Ayr’s streaming platform for a £10 pay-per-view fee. Click here to go to the Black and White TV website.
