PREVIEW: Clyde v Partick Thistle
Clyde’s 2020-21 Scottish League 1 campaign begins tomorrow at Broadwood, with a derby match against old rivals Partick Thistle.
The match is, of course, being played behind closed doors due to the current Covid-19 situation. Season Card holders have access to the Clyde FC Live stream via their card balance integration.
All other supporters of both clubs can purchase a pay-per-view ticket for £12. Click here for full details.
Jay Henderson continues to self-isolate following his recent involvement in the Scotland under-19 squad, so will miss out again.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the match:-
“It’s been a long and strange seven months without league games. Everyone will be desperate to get off to a fantastic start this season and we’re no different. We’ve enjoyed pre-season, getting to know the new players and getting them to gel into the squad and overall we’ve been trying to continue to improve. Even with the quality we do have, we want to continue to get better and better and if we work hard we have a great opportunity to do that.
“It’s a great match to start the season and one we’re looking forward to. I remember them well from playing in them and they were always intense games and, even though we’re in strange times with the fans not being there, I expect nothing less tomorrow.
“We have to remember that it’s a valuable three points that are up for grabs. A lot of people have been comparing budgets to our own, but we want to test ourselves against that type of quality to see how far we’ve come.
“We know that the Clyde supporters will be watching in numbers from home. The fans are the most important people at every football club. We’ll be playing for them knowing that they’re behind us and we’ll be doing all that we can to give our supporters the bragging rights.”
