Clyde 0-2 Peterhead
The Bully Wee put in a disappointing performance at a wet and windy Broadwood today, going down 2-0 to Peterhead.
Danny Lennon stuck with the same side that won against Partick Thistle a fortnight ago, with new loan signing Cameron Palmer starting on the bench.
A strong wind was causing havoc and it allowed Kristoffer Syvertsen to intercept a goal kick by Joshua Rae and drive forward in the opening stages, before floating a cross into the box. David Goodwillie got his head on the end of it but Rae was able to make a save.
There was very little action for the remainder of the half, with David Mitchell being called upon close to the interval, but comfortably held Scott Brown’s shot.
The Blue Toon took the lead ten minutes after the restart when Ryan Conroy hit a long diagonal ball to Lyall Cameron. He took a good first touch to cut inside Matthew Shiels, and slotted beyond Mitchell.
Clyde then suffered a double blow after Palmer was forced off injured less than ten minutes after making his debut off the bench, and before a sub could be made Peterhead doubled their advantage. Steven Boyd caught Martin McNiff in possession in the Clyde box and cut the ball back to Brown, who rifled it into the net.
Boyd came close to make it 3-0 but fired his effort narrowly over the bar, as The Bully Wee rarely threatened to play their way back into the game.
