Goodwillie Named Player of the Year
David Goodwillie has been named as the Clyde FC Player of the Year for 2019-20.
The club captain featured in 35 matches during the season, scoring 25 goals and also contributing six assists. The striker’s 20 league goals also placed him at the top of the League 1 scoring chart.
David was selected for the award following an online vote, taking 41%. Goalkeeper David Mitchell was second with 32% and midfielder Ray Grant was third with 15%.
The award was announced during last night’s End of Season Awards Show, hosted by John MacKinnon and Danny Lennon from their homes, replacing the traditional annual event.
Four other presentations were made during the show:-
- Goal of the Season – Chris McStay (v Queen of the South, 7th September)
- Executive Club Player of the Year – David Mitchell
- Website Player of the Year – Ray Grant
- Castlemilk Branch Player of the Year – David Goodwillie
