PREVIEW: Clyde v Dumbarton
Clyde play a third game at Broadwood in the space of a week tomorrow, as Dumbarton make the trip to Cumbernauld in Ladbrokes League 1.
The two sides met recently in midweek action at the C&G Systems Stadium, when The Sons ran out 1-0 winners. Jim Duffy’s men currently sit one place above The Bully Wee in the league table, with a gap of seven points.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the match:-
“In the past few games I’ve been particularly pleased with the levels that we’ve reached and it’s good that the boys and the fans are starting to get the rewards of that.
“We want to win every game. That’s how we set ourselves up and I like to think that more often than not we get it right. We have to make sure we do everything well for the 90 minutes and that means not switching off. If you look at the Raith Rovers and Dumbarton games, we switched off at two set pieces and they cost us goals, so we need to be switched on at al times, from the first whistle.
“We’re coming into the sprint part of the season now and we want to finish it strongly and see where it takes us. It’s all about gathering momentum now, but it’s a very tough league and we know what we’ve got to do. If we can bring the same ingredients as we have in the past few games – like our work ethic and determination – it gives us a better opportunity to pick up points.”
