CITY OF GLASGOW CUP: Celtic Colts 4-1 Clyde

The Bully Wee lost out to a clinical Celtic Colts side in the City of Glasgow Cup at the C&G Systems Stadium in Dumbarton this evening.

Danny Lennon was able to give run-outs to first team players in need of game time, as well as seven youngsters from the Community Foundation.

Clyde took the lead in the 32nd minute when Ally Love found Chris Johnston with a pass, and he took a touch before firing a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

The Hoops equalised two minutes later after a poor clearance in the Clyde defence, and Kieran McGrath was on hand to finish a cross.

Celtic Colts went into the interval with the advantage when McGrath’s header hit the bar, then he was the first to react to the rebound and prodded home.

The hosts found the back of the net twice in the second half; firstly through Karamoko Dembele who found the top corner from the edge of the box, and then from Luca Connell’s powerful drive from distance.

The Bully Wee thought they had pulled one back late on when Ross Lyon had the ball in the net, but he was flagged offside.
