Support for David Hagen

The club is offering its support to David Hagen, the former Clyde player who is sadly suffering from Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

David featured in 99 matches for The Bully Wee, between 2001 and 2004. During his career he also played for Rangers, Hearts, Falkirk, Livingston and Peterhead.

The Rangers Former Players Benevolent Club has launched a JustGiving donation page, to raise funds for David and his young family. Any supporters wishing to contribute can visit the page here.

The Clyde Supporters’ Trust and the Clyde FC Community Foundation have pledged a joint donation of £500 to the fund.

The club has also been in contact with David’s family, to offer any support that it can.

Clyde vice-chairman, John Taylor said:-

“David was a member of the 2003-04 squad that was denied promotion to the Premier League on the last day of the season, by Inverness Caley Thistle. He was a talented professional who made a significant contribution to The Bully Wee during his time with the club.

“We will continue to keep in contact with his family to show our support for David as he battles with this most challenging of degenerative diseases.”
