PREVIEW: Clyde v Stranraer

Clyde host Stranraer at Broadwood tomorrow, as the 2019-20 Ladbrokes League 1 season continues after a break for international matches.

The Blues are a point behind The Bully Wee in the early league table.

For Clyde, Alex Petkov returns to the squad after missing the last two matches due to his involvement with the Bulgarian under-21 side, during which time he featured in the full matches against Estonia and Russia in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying.

Speaking ahead of the match, Danny Lennon said:-

“Our form has been good in our last three games. Two clean sheets and four points from two games in the league was followed by an exciting game in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup. Being two goals down against a Championship side in Queen of the South, very few would have said we had a chance of winning the game. However, there is great depth of character, work rate and talent throughout the club. The players dug deep, kept playing to win, kept believing and pulled off a remarkable comeback that will be remembered for years to come.

“We must bring maximum application of all of those ingredients to every training session and every game. To turn up and bring our best every single time, game after game, week after week, is the great challenge and one that we are focused on meeting.

“All of Stranraer’s league games so far this season have been close affairs, so we know they pose a difficult proposition for us. I’d ask our supporters to once again give the team as much positive encouragement as you can – and to enjoy the game.”
