NEW SIGNING: Darren Smith

The club is delighted to announce the signing of Darren Smith from Stirling Albion on a one-year contract.

Smith, 31, brings a huge amount of experience to The Bully Wee and is also formerly of Motherwell, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.

The forward has been a familiar face to Clyde fans in recent years, having been with The Binos since 2014 and enjoying personal success during that time.

Speaking to the official website, Danny Lennon said:-

“Darren is another player who brings a high standard of experience and ability into our squad for League 1 football next season. Having played in all four tiers of Scottish football, he was the League 2 Player of the Year last season and second top scorer behind our very own David Goodwillie.

“This season, he has the second highest number of goals scored per minutes on the pitch in the league. I believe his strengths suit our brand of football beautifully and he will make a vital contribution throughout the exciting season to come.

“I am greatly looking forward to working with Darren and seeing him perform to his highest standard in a Clyde shirt.”
