PREVIEW: Clyde v Queen’s Park
Clyde will host Glasgow rivals Queen’s Park tomorrow, in the last home fixture of the regular 2018-19 Ladbrokes League 2 season.
With only two matches remaining overall, The Bully Wee still have an outside chance of catching leaders Peterhead, with Queen’s Park already assured of a mid-table finish.
For Clyde tomorrow, Dylan Cogill continues to be ruled out due to a knee injury, but Jordan Stewart could return to the squad.
Speaking ahead of the match, Danny Lennon said:-
“Having lost only one game since October, we are still in the hunt for the league title with only two games of the regulation season remaining. Peterhead only require one win from their two matches to claim the title, so it’s theirs to lose, but strange and unexpected things do happen in football. Teams in pole position in the final days of the season do miss out on league titles.
“No matter what Peterhead do, our focus is to win our own games and play to the best of our abilities. Our ambition this season has always been to win promotion to League 1 and we are still on course for that. Whether it is through lifting silverware or progressing through the play-offs, the challenge is the same – to win all of our remaining games.
“Queen’s Park will be disappointed with their season overall, but will have their club pride to play for tomorrow, which will make them a tough opponent.
“We are all enjoying our football right now, because we are showing that winning mentality to keep believing and are always working as hard as we can to make positive things happen. We must continue to do so until the last ball has been kicked this season.”
