PREVIEW: Clyde v Peterhead
The Bully Wee host Ladbrokes League 2 leaders Peterhead at Broadwood tomorrow.
The Blue Toon are currently five points ahead of Edinburgh City and a further point clear of Clyde, as the season enters an exciting climax with five matches left to play.
Both Jordan Stewart and Kieran Duffie are rated as doubtful, but club captain Kevin Nicoll is available to be involved following a broken collarbone, after being named on the bench at Albion Rovers last week.
Speaking to the official website ahead of the match, Danny Lennon started by reflecting on the season so far:-
“Our ambition for the season has always been to get promotion and everyone associated at the club has worked incredibly hard as we try to achieve that. We’ve had that winning mentality over the course of the season and that also shows with the amount of late goals we’ve scored, to earn us some very valuable points.
“We’ve got to remember though, that the prizes aren’t handed out in April. It’s important that we continue to keep the pressure on the top two teams, keep showing that winning mentality and see where it takes us.
“Peterhead have been very consistent with their results and their performances and they are a good, experienced team. We know that we’ll need to bring out our best against a team like that. I know the qualities that this Clyde team has and it’s a pleasure to be working with them and the characters we have. We’ll bring a high energy to the game tomorrow, as we always do.
“The directors at Albion Rovers were pleased with their gate receipts last weekend! Our fans have been tremendous this season and there have been some fantastic scenes of celebration with the players and fans. We know we’ll get that continued support at home tomorrow.”
