PREVIEW: Peterhead v Clyde

Clyde will travel to the North East tomorrow to take on Ladbrokes League 2 promotion rivals Peterhead.

The Blue Toon are currently in second place in the table, one place and five points ahead of The Bully Wee. In the two previous meetings of the clubs this season, the Aberdeenshire outfit have managed to secure victories on both occasions.

No changes are expected to the Clyde squad following last week’s win over Queen’s Park. Karim Belmokhtar is currently unavailable after failing to report for duty.

Speaking to the official website this evening, Danny Lennon said:-

“We’re looking forward to the challenge of taking on one of the top sides in the league.

“There’s no doubt that we’d rather be in Peterhead’s position at the moment, but we just need to keep our good form going and keep on their heels. The team are growing and learning all the time and that should serve us well as we enter the second half of the season.

“We can use the disappointment of our last visit to Balmoor to fuel us tomorrow. We’ll respect their strengths, but also focus on and play to our own. I think we’ve become mentally stronger in that area recently.

“I’d like to wish our fans a Happy New Year and also a safe journey to those making it up tomorrow. I hope they enjoy the spectacle of two teams at the top of the league competing against each other and they help us again by getting involved in the match for the full 90 minutes.”
