PREVIEW: Berwick Rangers v Clyde
The Bully Wee’s Ladbrokes League 2 campaign continues tomorrow, with a trip over the border to take on Berwick Rangers.
The previous two meetings of the teams this season were high-scoring and entertaining affairs, with a 3-2 win for Clyde at Shielfield Park in September followed by a 3-3 draw at Broadwood in early December.
Martin McNiff returns to the travelling party tomorrow, having resumed training this week after an ankle injury. No other changes are expected to the Clyde squad following last week’s win at Peterhead.
Speaking to the official website this evening, Danny Lennon was pleased with the level of competition and togetherness currently being shown within the first team group.
“We’ve got some tough decisions to make in terms of selection,” he said. “All three subs last week made a really positive impact on the game. I’ve always said that it’s never just about the 1 to 11; it’s about the whole squad contributing over a long season. This is a really fantastic group to work with in that respect.
“We treat every game the same in terms of preparation and our analysis of the opponent. We’ve been 2-0 and 3-0 down to Berwick at half-time already this season, so we know full well what they can do and the threat they will have tomorrow.
“We’ve always taken a good number of supporters to Berwick so hopefully it’ll be the same tomorrow and maybe even a wee bit more after our positive results recently. The fans will have a part to play again and I wish everyone that’s going a safe journey.”
Admission at Shielfield Park is £12 for adults and £8 for concessions. Please note that Berwick Rangers will be remembering fans and staff who passed away in 2018 with a time of applause prior to kick-off.
