PREVIEW: Stirling Albion v Clyde

The 2018-19 Ladbrokes League 2 season continues tomorrow, with a match between near neighbours at Forthbank Stadium.

The Bully Wee are hoping to build on a win over Cowdenbeath last week, with The Binos conversely looking to bounce back after an opening day defeat at Berwick Rangers.

For Clyde, Kevin Nicoll and Eddie Ferns are both available again after suspension.

Speaking to the official website today, Danny Lennon was hoping that a healthy away support could help to push the team to reach a higher level of performance over the full match.

“Last week we raised the curtain on our league campaign with three points and a clean sheet,” he said. “The result and the points were the right way to start the league – we have started how we intend to go on this season. We will go into every game this season looking to earn the win. That’s what we train for and it’s what we play for. It is a very competitive league and every point has to be earned.

“Tomorrow we will be competing for three points with one of our main rivals for top spot in the league in Stirling Albion. We will need to be at our best for 90 minutes to earn the points we want. Last week, we were excellent in the first half, but dropped it down a level in terms of our performance in the second half. We can do better than that and the lads are keen to improve on last week. They are keen to show that they can perform at their best for 90 minutes.

“We’re hoping that there will be a good number of Clyde supporters at the game. There is no doubt that positive vocal support from the fans gives the players extra energy. We are looking to earn vital league points tomorrow and we can achieve that by giving our all, together.”

Admission prices at Forthbank are; adults £13, seniors/students £9, under-16s £5 and under-12s free. Clyde fans will be housed in the East Stand, with entry via turnstiles 9 & 10.
