Betfred Cup Fixtures Announced

Following last month’s Betfred Cup Group Stage draw, the SPFL has announced the fixture lists for the opening stage of the competition.

The Bully Wee will open with a home match against Edinburgh City on Saturday 14th July, and will also conclude the Group Stage at Broadwood, when they take on Motherwell on Saturday 28th July, live on BT Sport.

The group stage uses the traditional three points for a win and one point for a draw model but all drawn matches go straight to a penalty shoot-out, with the winner of the shoot-out awarded a bonus point.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up progress to the last 16, where they are joined by European qualifiers Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibernian.

The club can also confirmed that the friendly match scheduled with Stranraer on Saturday 7th July at Stair Park has been cancelled, as a result of both teams being drawn together in Group G.
