NEW SIGNING: David Hopkirk

The club is pleased to announce a further addition to the first team squad this evening, as David Hopkirk joins Clyde from Derry City.

The forward, 25, started his career with Hamilton Accies, where he made his senior debut as a teenager, before moving to Queen of the South. While at Palmerston Park, a successful loan spell at Annan Athletic led to a permanent move to Galabank in 2013.

Hopkirk’s form at Annan attracted the attention of Dunfermline Athletic, who signed him in the summer of 2015. After two and a half seasons with The Pars, David made a switch to League of Ireland Premier Division side Derry earlier this year, but the move didn’t work out and he has now returned back to Scotland.

David has agreed terms on a one-year deal with The Bully Wee.
