Dylan Focuses on Closing Match
Dylan Cogill spoke to the press following Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Edinburgh City in the capital.
The 20-year old managed to get his first goal for the club during the Ladbrokes League 2 win, after coming close in recent weeks.
“It was a long time coming,” he said. “I’ve had a few chances where the ball has been cleared off the line or I’ve hit the post, so I feel I was due a goal really.”
Cogill joined Clyde on loan from Huddersfield Town in January and spoke about what it’s been like since coming into the squad:-
“Yeah, I like it here, it’s a good club. Since I’ve come in we’ve seen success and won a lot of games so it’s really enjoyable at the moment.
“When I first joined I was just focused on playing games, especially first team football, and it’s just got better from there.”
The centre back mentioned the quality he feels that exists throughout the team:-
“We always think we can keep a clean sheet because there’s a lot of talent in the team. We know that if we do our job at the back, the people up top will score.”
The win took Clyde to within a point of fourth place ahead of the final matches of the 2017-18 season this week. To conclude, Dylan spoke about how he felt about it:-
“I’m just focused on us. Obviously, we can only do as best as we can and it’s up to what the others do after that. If we can get our three points that’s all that matters.
“If we get to play-offs it would be fantastic but as I said we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing for the last match.”
