PREVIEW: Berwick Rangers v Clyde
The Bully Wee will travel to Northumberland tomorrow for a Ladbrokes League 2 match against Berwick Rangers.
It’s the third meeting of the clubs so far in the 2017-18 season, with The Wee Rangers winning the opening league match in August, followed by a 0-0 draw at Broadwood in December.
Just one point separates the sides in the table and Clyde can leapfrog tomorrow’s hosts with a win.
Speaking to the official website this afternoon, Danny Lennon said:-
“We’ve got a bit of momentum and positive confidence now. If we look at last week, the boys showed great character to get the win, but also there was a negative in giving away the first winning position. Clean sheets mean a lot and I was very disappointed that we made it so hard for ourselves. We raised the bar in the Montrose and Peterhead matches and it’s important that we reach those standards every week.
“We know that we are going to a difficult venue tomorrow, with a different type of pitch. We’ll be playing a side that are hurting at the moment and there will be a reaction from them I’m sure. The players have already showed me that they have the character for these type of matches and we’ve got to show the same level of commitment.
“We’ve got healthy competition in the squad now and it’s not just about the 11 that are picked to start. The players are supporting one another and the ones that haven’t been starting are training well. Everyone is working hard behind the scenes and it’s a team effort.”
