Smart Wants to Play His Part
New signing Smart Osadolor spoke to the press following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Annan Athletic in the Betfred Cup.
The Nigerian forward had an eventful debut after coming on as a substitute, missing a chance to score, setting up a goal for David Goodwillie and then unfortunately making a mistake at the other end as Annan grabbed a late consolation.
The 26-year-old said:-
“I said to David, I’ll get you a goal and I managed to do it for him. I could of and should of scored as well, but it was one of those that came to me a bit fast. Overall I enjoyed it though.”
Osadolar was one of several Clyde players lining up against his old club. He continued:-
“I think that shows how good the manager is, everyone that’s played under him before wants to come here and play for him again. There’s obviously a big project here and I’m pleased to be part of it, no matter what part that is. I believe in the manager and the boys that we’ve got in the dressing room.
“I had two good years at Annan, but now it’s time to look forward and see what we can achieve this season.”
Smart concluded by saying that he was looking forward to contributing to a squad effort throughout the campaign:-
“Through the course of the season it’s going to take the full squad to achieve what we want to. It’s been good so far and we want to take it from there.
“Knowing a lot of the boys has helped me and I’m still learning, but I want to enjoy every minute.”
