Clyde Kids Head to Denmark

The Bully Wee’s 2003 community team are jetting off to Hjorring, Denmark next week, to take on the best young talent from Europe and abroad at this summer’s Dana Cup.

The Dana Cup, first held in 1982, is one of the world’s largest youth football tournaments and includes teams from across Europe, North and South America and Asia.

Clyde are hoping to become the first Scottish winners of the prestigious tournament and the first British winners since 1994.

Head coach George Innes said: “Our boys are well prepared and will go over to Denmark ready for the task ahead. We have been back for several weeks now, putting in a lot of pre-season work and playing friendly matches to sharpen up before we travel.

“We go to Denmark with no fear and hope to do ourselves and the Clyde badge proud.”

The tournament will run from Monday 24th to Saturday 29th July and supporters can keep up with the boys’ progression via their Twitter account.

A full update on how the team got on will be published on the website after the group return home.
