PREVIEW: Clyde v Elgin City

It’s another very significant day in Ladbrokes League 2 tomorrow, as Clyde and Elgin City meet at Broadwood with different reasons for wanting a win.

The Black and Whites are currently in the promotion play-off zone, but might need more points before the end of the season to secure a finishing slot. The Bully Wee are just three points above Cowdenbeath in the race to avoid bottom spot.

For Clyde, Jordan McMillan is available again following illness and the squad is expected to be otherwise unchanged from last week’s win over Annan Athletic.

Joint interim manager, Peter MacDonald spoke to the official website this afternoon and he was hoping to push on from that result:-

“We’ve got a strong squad available and we want to build on last week. The league is very tight but we’ve got to ask ourselves if we can go and get the two or three more wins that we need now. We are in this position because we have underperformed but it’s in our hands to get out of it again.

“We’ll go into tomorrow very prepared and we know that home advantage can be hugely important. Hopefully we can play without fear and get the ball down when we can.

“Elgin are a good side that play good football – we will show them the respect they deserve, but no more than that.

“We’ve got a few choices to make with the team selection and we’ll make a final decision on the line-up tomorrow morning.”
