PREVIEW: Edinburgh City v Clyde

The Bully Wee will take on Ladbrokes League 2 newcomers Edinburgh City for the first time tomorrow, in what will also be the club’s first match at Meadowbank Stadium for over 20 years.

The capital club had a narrow loss to Elgin City last week to remain at the foot of the table, with Clyde sitting in third place following a frustrating draw at Berwick Rangers two weeks ago.

Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website today and had no complacency about The Citizens’ current league position:-

“We’ve had Edinburgh watched recently and we know that teams haven’t found it easy against them. Elgin won there last week but it wasn’t convincing for them and they had to battle hard to get the points. Arbroath also found it tough and got a draw in the end.

“They’ve been unlucky not to pick up any wins so far and we’ve had a chat with the players about what to expect tomorrow. We’ve prepared right and trained well so we’re as ready as we can be for the match.”

The Clyde manager, who had no fresh injury worries to report, was pleased with how the squad had utilised the International break over the last fortnight:-

“My group put everything into training and we do everything at a high tempo. They’ve also played a lot of football and we’re heading into a busy period up until New Year, so having a short break last week was good for them.

“They boys really hit the ground running when they came back and we’ve had three really good sessions ahead of tomorrow’s match.”
