PREVIEW: Elgin City v Clyde
Clyde’s Ladbrokes League 2 campaign continues tomorrow, with a trip to the Highlands to take on Elgin City.
The Black and Whites – who sit just a point behind The Bully Wee in the league table – have an impressive home record in recent years, but Clyde’s last visit to Borough Briggs in May yielded a fine 2-0 win.
Following the recent news that Jordan Lowdon and Dylan Easton have suffered cruciate knee injuries, both men join JP McGovern on the long-term absentee list.
Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website today and discussed moving on after the injury setbacks:-
“It’s been a difficult couple of weeks for us, we’ve lost two key players but unfortunately injuries are part and parcel of football. I’ve been involved in the game long enough to know that and there’s no point in feeling sorry for ourselves.
“Our finances dictate that we aren’t going to be able to add to the squad at the moment, but we’ve still got a lot of very good players at the club. We’ll move on now and I believe that the players we still have are definitely good enough. We might have to tweak a few things in terms of how we set up, but you would expect any team at any level to do that.
“Elgin is always a difficult place to go and they have an excellent home record. It’s a journey that every team has to make though and we’re going up there with a positive attitude and aiming to get a win.”
