MacDonald Appointed as Player-Coach
The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter MacDonald as player-coach.
MacDonald, 35, joined The Bully Wee in July in a playing capacity and will now take on a dual role with the first team squad.
Clyde manager, Barry Ferguson said: “Peter has a lot of experience that we can tap into. We had a few people in mind for a coaching role, but the enthusiasm and ideas that Peter has made it an easy decision in the end.
“First and foremost, he will continue to be an important player for us but he will also now get involved in the coaching side. He’s got coaching experience at youth level and he’s really keen to get into it at senior level. It’s a win-win situation. Peaso has played at a good level throughout his career and he’s a really enthusiastic person, which I like.
“The most important thing for me though, is the squad. They were the first to know about this and it sat really well with them. Peter will continue to be part of the dressing room but he’ll combine that with being in my office. The boys know that they can approach me, but there’s now a go-between for them as well.
“It’s a really positive move for the club and I’m delighted to be able to confirm it today.”
MacDonald has featured in seven matches for The Bully Wee so far this season, scoring three goals and registering four assists.
