PREVIEW: Clyde v Montrose
The 2016-17 Ladbrokes League 2 season kicks-off tomorrow, with Montrose visiting Broadwood for the opening day fixture.
Montrose finished in eighth place last season, taking seven points from their four matches against Clyde. Over the summer, The Gable Endies have made changes to their squad and are expected to have some new faces in their starting line-up, possibly including former Clyde man Michael Bolochoweckyj.
For The Bully Wee, Sean Higgins has a one-match suspension to serve and is unavailable.
Speaking to the official website, Barry Ferguson was eager to get the league campaign underway:-
“There’s always a long build up to the first league game and we’re looking forward to it. It’s been a bit of a strange pre-season with the changes to the cup competitions but we’re ready for it and the boys can’t wait to get started.
“It’s always good to start with a home fixture so we can’t complain about that and hopefully there will be a good turnout.
“Montrose have made a few changes to their squad and you will always get a difficult game against a team managed by Paul Hegarty. First and foremost we need to be ready to compete and to battle and if we do that, we can then let our ability come through.”
