Draw in Final Friendly Match
Clyde’s last pre-season friendly fixture of the summer, against Celtic Under-20s, ended in a 2-2 draw at Broadwood this afternoon.
New signing Peter MacDonald was given a start in attack and he opened the scoring after 19 minutes, with a sharp finish from inside the box.
Shortly before half-time, former Clyde loan player Aidan McIlduff equalised for The Bhoys with an excellent long-range strike but Martin McNiff came close to restoring the lead almost immediately when his header hit the bar.
In the second half, John Gibson did well to come off his line and prevent Jack Aitchison from scoring, before Dylan Easton made it 2-1 with a superb run and shot that clipped the inside the post on its way into the back of the net.
Deep into injury time, the young Celtic side took advantage of a spill by Gibson as Innes Murray stabbed the ball home to earn a draw for his team.
