Dylan Easton Signs for Clyde
The club is delighted to announce a further new addition to the first team squad; midfield playmaker Dylan Easton from Elgin City.
Clyde manager Barry Ferguson confirmed this morning that the 22-year-old, formerly of Livingston, Berwick Rangers and St. Johnstone, has signed a contract with The Bully Wee for the 2016-17 season.
Barry said: “When I found out that there was a chance we could bring Dylan to Clyde, I started working on the deal straight away and we have worked extremely hard to get him. It’s a major signing for the club and I’m absolutely delighted to be able to announce the news today.
“When we met initially, he was so keen to do something with us and that was the thing that really got me – he wanted to play for me and for Clyde.
“He’s got undoubted quality and he is a link between the midfield and forwards, something that we know we have been missing. He’ll fit perfectly into the way we’re going to play next season, with a younger team and lots of energy all over the pitch. We’ll have a certain style that’s different to what we have had before and Dylan is ideal to compliment that.
“A lot of clubs would love to have Dylan in their squad and he had a number of options, but he has decided that Clyde is the next step in his career. He knows some of our current squad and they’ve helped to convince him that it was the right move. He also enjoyed the experience of the play-off matches against us and playing at Broadwood on the big pitch is something he’s looking forward to.
“I think this signing is an example of my ambition and the club’s ambition and I know that, like the rest of us, Dylan can’t wait to get in for pre-season training and get started.”
Barry also commented that his next priorities in terms of the squad were a central defender and a goalkeeper and that he would be continuing to work hard to fill those positions.
