Kirkpatrick Joins on Loan
Barry Ferguson has made a new addition to the squad ahead of tomorrow’s Ladbrokes League 2 match against Arbroath, with Jordan Kirkpatrick joining on loan from Dumbarton until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old – formerly of Hamilton Accies and Airdrie – has already featured regularly for The Sons this season, with 22 Championship appearances to his name.
Ferguson spoke to the official website after concluding the deal this morning:-
“I tried to bring Jordan to the club in January, but the deal fell through for various reasons. When we heard that he had become available this week, we moved quickly and I’m delighted that it’s done.
“He’s someone we had targeted for next season’s squad, so this gives us a chance to have a close look at him and also lets him have a close look at Clyde. I see him playing in either midfield or up front for us. We run with a smallish squad so I always try to bring in players that I know can play in two or maybe even three positions; Jordan can do that.
“I’ve always liked him and he adds another bit of competition for places. He’s also the right type of person to fit into what we already have at the club – he’s a good character and I’m sure he’ll get on well in our dressing room.”
Jordan trained with the squad last night and is eligible to feature tomorrow.
