PREVIEW: Annan Athletic v Clyde
The Bully Wee’s Ladbrokes League 2 campaign continues on Saturday, with a Boxing Day trip to Galabank to take on Annan Athletic.
Annan are the current league leaders, but Clyde are only four points behind the Dumfries and Galloway club with a game in hand.
Both clubs, however, suffered a defeat last weekend but Barry Ferguson wasn’t overly downhearted about the result:-
“I thought we deserved more,” he said. “We were alright on the day. I’m not going to criticise the boys, we should have won the game, but we just didn’t take our chances.”
A healthy away support is expected to make the journey on Saturday, with an additional supporters bus running, and the Clyde boss was looking forward to continued backing for the team:-
“I thought the support for the team last week was the best yet. Apart from roaring us on when we dominated the early stages of the game, the fans tried to pick us up as the second half went on when they could see we needed a lift. That means a lot to players and more of that in the months ahead will, I hope, bring the reward it deserves.”
