Clyde 1-1 Berwick Rangers
Today’s Ladbrokes League 2 match at Broadwood ended in a draw, with Sean Higgins’ first half goal for Clyde being cancelled out by a second half strike by Blair Henderson for Berwick.
For the fourth week in a row, Barry Ferguson named the same starting line-up.
The Bully Wee survived two early scares as the visitors started the match as the stronger team. A defensive mix-up led to a free kick inside the box for a passback offence, which was well dealt with by the Clyde rearguard, and then a shot from distance was pushed onto the bar by John Gibson.
However, Clyde started to come into the match and Higgins got the opening goal when a cross wasn’t fully cleared and the forward did well to put a volley into the corner of the net.
David Marsh then missed the target from inside the box and Archie Campbell saw his low shot well saved by Kevin Walker, with Rangers strongly claiming for a penalty at the other end following a collision in the box.
After the break, the match featured few goalmouth incidents but David Gormley came close to getting on the end of Archie Campbell’s cross.
With 68 minutes on the clock, The Wee Gers got a deserved equaliser as Henderson converted a low cross from close range.
There was a lengthy delay in play after Berwick’s Graeme Beveridge suffered a nasty head knock and was stretchered off the pitch and neither team looked likely to get a winning goal in a disappointing final stage of the contest overall.
