Golf Day Raises Nearly £9,000

The 10th Celeb-Am Golf Day took place at the Westerwood Golf & Country club on Friday 5th June.

The website caught up with club director and event organiser, Bobby Gracey to hear all about the day.

He said: “Despite wet underfoot conditions, everyone had a fantastic day and I have received several emails and texts from those attending looking forward to the next one.”

Clyde manager Barry Ferguson, who was also participating, gave an inspiring talk to over 80 evening guests in relation to his thoughts and plans for the season ahead.

Importantly, the event raised just under £9,000 which significantly exceeded the budget target forecast for the event.

The event was won by a team captained by former Scotland Internationalist Andy McLaren and Clyde fan Andrew Percy, who was joined by his business associate David Marshall (pictured).

The loudest cheer of the day went to another Clyde fan, Phil Caplan who won the ‘closest to the pin’ competition with an outstanding shot to just four inches from the hole.

Bobby continued, “On behalf of the club, I would really like to thank everyone who supported the event on the day, sponsors and of course the volunteers who worked tirelessly from 9am to 9pm.

“I am delighted to confirm that discussions have already started regarding the club hosting another golf day in September and I hope that this will be just as succesful.”
