Sports Dinner Raises £7k
It’s been confirmed that the recent Sportsman’s Dinner has raised a superb total of £7,060 for the club.
A sell-out audience of over 200 attendees enjoyed a great night at the Oran Mor venue in the West End of Glasgow.
Speakers Tam Cowan and Des McLean were joined by Pat Rolink of Albion Rovers, who acted as Master of Ceremonies for the night and also conducted the auction which contributed to the funds raised for The Bully Wee.
One of the highlights of the night was a presentation to Clyde legend Davie Laing (pictured with Club Chaplain, John McKinnon), who was celebrating his 90th birthday on the day of the event.
Clyde director and event organiser, Gordon Nisbet said: “Our annual fundraising dinner successfully achieved its aims, not just in raising funds for the Club but also in hosting a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the superb Oran Mor.
“The feedback from those in attendance has been extremely favourable and I would like to thank Pat Rolink and fellow planning team members James & Shirley Turnbull for their help and support.
“Finally, I would also like to register the club’s thanks to supporters Stuart Brodie and Stevie Sallie, who have both kindly donated their winning auction items back to the club; the excellent crystal glass stadium models.”
