PREVIEW: East Stirlingshire v Clyde

The Bully Wee will make the short trip to Ochilview tomorrow, to take on East Stirlingshire in the Scottish League Two.

The two clubs are separated by just one point in the league table, but The Shire enjoyed victories in the clubs’ previous two meetings so far this season.

Clyde will be boosted by the addition of Mark McLaughlin to the squad and former Ayr United player-manager Mark Roberts will also be involved as a trialist, as Barry Ferguson explained when he spoke to the official website this evening:-

“Mark has been training with us for a few weeks and we’re going to include him as a trialist for the next three matches. He hasn’t played for a few months but he’s an experienced guy and having him involved on matchdays will be a benefit to the players.”

The Clyde boss also confirmed that he was still working hard to make additions to the squad ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline:-

“I’ve agreed a deal to sign a striker and that will be completed on Monday. I’m also working on a few other things, including a deal for a midfield player that we are close to finalising.”

Barry had no injury concerns to report ahead of tomorrow’s match and concluded, “Every game is important and tomorrow is no different. I thought that in the first 45 minutes last week we showed that we’re capable of taking on anyone in the league, but we just need to produce it for 90 minutes.

“I know the players can do it and that’s what we’re aiming for tomorrow.”
