Clyde 1-1 Arbroath
League Two leaders Arbroath came back to earn a point at Broadwood this afternoon, after Ross Fisher’s goal had given Clyde a first half lead.
Barry Ferguson made one change to the team following the match against Berwick, with David Gray replacing Brian McQueen.
Following an encouraging start to the contest, The Bully Wee took the lead after 20 minutes when Fisher met a cross from Steven McDougall (pictured) and powered a header past Marc McCallum.
At the other end, Fisher and Alan Martin combined to stop Simon Murray from close range, but Clyde could have extended the lead before half-time when Scott McManus just missed the target after getting on the end of Scott Durie’s low cross.
Early in the second half, McManus had an effort cleared off the line following a corner but the visitors started to get on top of the match and Adam Hunter’s free-kick went inches wide of the post.
After 67 minutes, Mark Whatley scored the equaliser with a near post header from a left wing cross.
The Red Lichties went on to dominate the closing stages of play and Clyde had Alan Martin to thank for two excellent saves, on both occasions denying Paul McManus from a winning goal.
