Arbroath 4-0 Clyde
Clyde suffered a heavy defeat to the League Two leaders this afternoon, as Arbroath wrapped up the three points with four goals in the opening 45 minutes.
Barry Ferguson made two changes to the team following last week’s defeat to East Stirlingshire, with Fraser McGhee and Michael Daly replacing David Gray and the injured Euan Murray.
After a fairly even start, Arbroath took control of the match with two quick goals before 20 minutes had been completed. The first came from the spot after Andy Gibson was deemed to have committed a foul, with Paul McManus converting the penalty. Following that, some slack defending allowed Simon Murray (pictured) to double the home side’s advantage.
The Red Lichties went on to end the match as a contest before half-time by scoring another two goals just before the break. Bobby Linn’s fine finish made it 3-0 and Murray got his second goal from close range.
There were chances at either end in the second half and both ‘keepers were forced into action on several occasions, but the points were already secured for the Angus club.
