Chairman’s Message of Thanks

It could hardly have been a more tense and emotional end to a season, as we narrowly failed to make the final of the League One play-offs at Bayview today.

Rather than reflect on the final match, it is probably more fitting to thank the entire squad for their combined effort and application since the campaign started. We sought progress and we were rewarded with more than most of us expected, as we went into the play-offs with some justified confidence.

It was a squad effort; injuries and departures took their usual toll and those that stepped up to replace them, particularly our Development players, can be proud of themselves.

It has been a tough season for our travelling support, with some far flung destinations, but today saw the best away support for a number of years and the backing for the team was fantastic. It shows that Clyde supporters will turn out for a hard-working team. The entire club appreciated the support today and we look forward to continued backing next season.

We have all enjoyed having a season that has had us on the edge of our seats right to the last second, no matter the pain in the end.

We might have suffered a major disappointment but we go forward to next season with greater expectation than we have had for some time.

– John Alexander, Chairman
