Fundraising Books on Sale

Two unique books – both with a Clyde angle – will be on sale in limited numbers at the Club Shop at Broadwood tomorrow.

James Paterson, also known as author James Denham, has written and now published a book titled ‘Let us Follow the Clyde‘. It follows the River Clyde from its source to estuary, visiting all the communities on the way and with an overview of the history of each settlement including the churches, schools, great men, industry and more.

It’s priced at £9.89 and can also be purchased on James’ website.

‘The Castles of Glasgow and the Clyde’ by Gordon W. Mason provides a detailed description of over 300 castles and fortified houses throughout Glasgow, Strathkelvin, Dumbartonshire, Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire, with a fascinating historical log and comprehensive research of these structures and sites. Folklore, legends, ghosts and family/local/national history engrosses the reader throughout the book.

Copies of this book can be purchased for a minimum donation of £10.

The authors, both Clyde supporters, have kindly offered to donate proceeds raised from sales of the book to the club.

Clyde director, Gary Ballantyne said: “The club are indebted to both gentlemen for their generosity in donating profits from their own literature endeavours to The Bully Wee. This will contribute to the continued development of the club.”
