Clyde 1-1 Stranraer
Clyde continued their unbeaten run to nine games but had to be satisfied with a 1-1 draw with League One side Stranraer in the Fourth Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup at Broadwood today.
The Bully Wee started the stronger of the two ‘in form’ sides and deservedly took the lead in the 14th minute, when Kieran MacDonald headed home from a Stuart McColm (pictured) cross. The Fourth Round is the time of the competition when the Premiership teams enter the fray and the goal scored was worthy of the top division, with MacDonald’s header completing an excellent move by the home side.
The opener was no more than Clyde deserved but, as the game edged to the interval, The Bully Wee were left to rue a number of missed chances as Jamie Longworth coolly slotted the ball home to equalise.
In terms of possession, Stranraer were in the ascendency for the majority of the second period but Clyde continued to threaten on the break.
However, the winning goal was not to be found and both teams had to settle for a draw.
The replay will take place at Stair Park on Tuesday 10th December with a 7.45pm kick-off.
