The official website caught up with club director, Bobby Gracey today to find out how the budget development fund is progressing.

“All I can say is thank-you so much to all of the fans and owners who have stepped forward so far,” Bobby said. “I am hoping that in the next couple of weeks we will issue a further communication to update everyone on the progress being made and the work that remains to be carried out.

“Everyone knows that in any business cash flow is king and we need to ensure we have sufficient working capital to meet our modest operating costs during the months of January, February and March.

“The current £30,000 operating budget deficit is a significant challenge, however it is not insurmountable if we can all pull together on and off the park.

“The club’s struggle is all the more difficult with declining commercial revenues on matchdays, declining matchday attendances and a diminishing distribution pot from the footballing authorities.

“I remain confident that the power of Clyde FC is our collective ownership model and if the 400 adult owners can pledge £10 per month to the club then we will instantly be ahead of our operating budget requirements and create even greater certainty in terms of the club’s future.

“I believe our ownership model provides a unique opportunity for real supporters of the club to make a difference and also to align their ownership status with real accountability and responsibility.

“If we can work together at this critical time we have so many good things to look forward to, such as the ending of our historical debt payments which will provide the club with access to what will, essentially, be new funds that can be more appropriately allocated to the running of the club.

“I believe that the Clyde Office has received several requests to clarify how donations can be made to the club via PayPal. This is a very straightforward process and donations can be made at the dedicated page on the website.

“Aside from financial donations, I would also like to thank everyone who has taken the time to write to me and the club in relation to the development initiative. I hope to answer everyone’s comments personally in an effort to improve our communications to our owners and fans, who to me will always be our greatest asset.”
