Schedule Ahead of EGM
The focus for the March meeting of the Clyde FC Board centred around the communication process required in the lead up to the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) being held at Broadwood on Saturday 20th April at 12.30pm, at which Owners will vote on proposals for the club to begin the negotiation process to relocate from Cumbernauld to East Kilbride, and for the proposed name change for the club if the move goes ahead.
The EGM will go ahead prior to the club’s match against Montrose and all owners will by now have received their packs for the meeting, including a proxy form. It is vital that as many Owners as possible attend the meeting, but those unable to attend have the opportunity to submit their proxy form by post or nominate a proxy to attend the meeting and vote on their behalf.
The Owners have a pivotal role to play in the future direction of the Club and the Board believe it is imperative that everyone who casts their vote on 20th April does so feeling fully informed of the implications
Owners’ Information Meetings
To that end the club has organised further information meetings for owners. The first of which is prior to Saturday’s match against East Stirlingshire at 1pm in the Clyde Suite at Broadwood. The club will repeat that opportunity again for Owners next week prior to our match with Berwick Rangers. We also hope to soon announce a midweek meeting in Glasgow during week commencing 8th April and details will be circulated to owners once the venue has been confirmed. Board members are also attending meetings of smaller groups on request.
Ownership Applications
Given the significance in the decision being made about the potential move to East Kilbride there has been a slight rise in the number of ownership requests in recent weeks. At the March meeting on Monday 25th, the Board of Directors ratified a number of new applications for ownership who will be included in the forthcoming vote. However, as the next board meeting is not scheduled to take place until the 29th April, any applications received from now will not be ratified until that date and therefore will be ineligible to vote at the EGM.
