PREVIEW: Clyde v Peterhead
Clyde boss Jim Duffy spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk after he secured the club’s latest signing, Michael Daly:-
“I was delighted to agree a pre-contract deal with Michael today. He is a player that we have admired for a while and we know at first hand the qualities that he possesses.”
The match with Peterhead is the club’s fifth in quick succession.
Jim continued, “The games have come thick and fast but the results have been poor. We worked hard against Queen’s Park and were playing well then lost a goal. Within a minute, Kieran’s shot hit the underside of their bar and crashed down on the line; another couple of inches backwards we would have got level and that would have changed the momentum of the game. In the end they ran out deserved winners though.
“We need to continue to apply ourselves and show the necessary desire to turn the results around and hopefully we can get a break against a decent Peterhead side.”
Tomorrow’s task is not made any easier with the continued loss of David Marsh (groin), Michael Oliver (ankle) and Gavin Brown (hamstring), as the club looks for its first win in eight games.
Midfielder Kevin Nicol will, however, be given every chance to make it with a fitness test prior to the game and to compensate for those absences the manager may yet consider the inclusion of a trialist in the squad.
