Clyde 0-3 Queen’s Park
The Bully Wee’s poor run of form continued tonight, as Queen’s Park left Broadwood with a comfortable victory.
Jim Duffy made two changes to the team that lost at Stirling on Saturday, with Stef McCluskey and Ryan MacBeth replacing Kevin Watt and Kevin Nicoll.
The Spiders took the initiative after 15 minutes when Aidan Connolly put a low shot past Jamie Barclay, following a move down the left wing.
However, Clyde could have equalised moments later when Stuart McColm’s cross was met by Kieran McGachie, who was unlucky to see his volley come back out off the bar.
There was a blow for The Bully Wee just after half-time when Queen’s doubled their lead. A ball into the box was collected by Lawrence Shankland and he was able to create space for himself and put a well-placed shot past Barclay and into the far corner of the net.
There was another great chance for Clyde to score midway through the second half. Kieran Macdonald’s excellent free-kick delivery was met by McCuskey, but the striker’s header missed the target from only a few yards out.
The visitors sealed the win on 83 minutes, as Shankland got his second goal of the game, finishing off a breakaway move with a composed finish.
